Abigail Boyle as Carmen in her first solo drips with alluring sexuality as the choreography sits deliciously in her highly articulate body. The movements of her arms are exquisite. She carries the character of Carmen with a wily and sinuous strength intention throughout the performance; her trajectory is tragic yet ultimately satisfying

Abigail Boyle ...... is absolutely, lusciously, dangerously Carmen.
She just so looks the part - long of limb and statuesquely sexy - and makes the absolute most of her physical attributes with a perfect theatrical sensibility.Carmen (Choreographer - Didy Veldman)

Lead soloist, Abigail Boyle is in top form, having reached a stage in her career where her steely strength matches her exquisite grace and line

... the dancers perform the repetitious choreography with precision, and lead soloist Abigail Boyle's lithesome limbs display liquid control with her balletic extensions to be admired

And the dancers in this version deliver in full measure, with the phenomenal Abigail Boyle presenting both a heart-wrenchingly vulnerable and transcendent sacrificial virgin

Abigail Boyle created such a poetic Lilac Fairy that the whole production seemed to revolve around her as the force for good. (I clambered into the garden at midnight to fetch a branch of lilac as a reminder).

Performing for a near-full theatre last night, the strongest performance was from Aurora, played by guest soloist Abigail Boyle, from the Royal New Zealand Ballet, who conveyed strong emotions with her face as well as her movements, which were precise, elegant and even breath-taking in the final act.

Abigail Boyle gave a commanding performance as Princess Aurora - a role renowned for its difficulty. Her performance was as vibrant and energetic, as it was delicate and elusive.

But it\'s left to Abigail Boyle, the Lilac Fairy, beautifully embodying her trait of wisdom, to bring any emotional satisfaction to this rendering of the classic tale. And she does so with a star-quality blend of grace, clarity and a subtle power.
